After 14 years of practicing this very same sugar detox myself, I am thrilled my Strike Sugar eBook is now LIVE! I’m blown away by the enthusiasm of those participating and the support and encouragement of one another that I’m already seeing within the community. I’ve received great questions from people who are curious about joining in and have read comments by people doubting their own ability to successfully Strike Sugar with me and so many others for the next four weeks. Everything I have read over the last few days has inspired me to compile the following list of TRUE/FALSE facts about the #StrikeSugarChallenge.

1. THE #STRIKESUGARCHALLENGE IS ABOUT CUTTING REFINED SUGARS FROM MY DIET.

TRUE, BUT THERE'S MORE! Yes, we avoid all refined sugars and processed foods for the four-week period; however, beyond the benefit of clearing our systems of nutritionally devoid sugars, the #StrikeSugarChallenge helps reset our blood sugar levels and gives the organs and circuitry responsible for blood sugar handling, a much needed break. Your body becomes exhausted from working so hard all the time! We’re giving it a break. We’re giving you a break.

2. THERE IS NO FRUIT ALLOWED DURING THE CHALLENGE.

FALSE! Small quantities of certain fruits are part of the #StrikeSugarChallenge and included in the meal plans. Certain fruits have less natural sugars and more fibre, which helps to ease the blood sugar crush.

3. I CAN’T PARTICIPATE BECAUSE I’M GLUTEN-FREE/ VEGETARIAN/ VEGAN/ PALEO/ ETC.

FALSE! Anyone can participate. The daily meal plans have built in flexibility that accommodates all diets and dietary restrictions. The Strike Sugar eBook also contains lists of suitable meat-based and plant-based protein sources, greens, fats and more – all of which can be mixed and matched within the parameters of the meal plans to suit your diet, preferences, and groceries that are available, local and in season for you. Even if you are allergic to nuts, you can comfortably participate by substituting them with seeds (if allowed) and/or edamame.

4. I MISSED THE JULY 1 START DATE WHICH MEANS I CAN’T PARTICIPATE.

FALSE! Your body will benefit from this four-week sugar detox no matter when you start. The sooner you start, the more time you will have to strike sugar along with me and so many others, but your body will thank you just the same if you start today, tomorrow, next week or next month! 5. I’M A SUGAR ADDICT. THERE IS NO WAY I COULD GIVE UP SUGAR FOR A MONTH!

FALSE! This regimen is to be followed for four weeks, not forever! Push yourself to give it a shot and I promise you will see and feel positive changes happen inside and out. Weight loss, clearer skin, better sex, reduced cravings, mental clarity and so much more for only four weeks of “work” sounds like a more than fair trade to me! Plus, watch my social media pages and website for treats and surprises to keep your focus and commitment sharp along the way. I was a sugar addict and now I’m not! You can do it too!

6. I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW MY PRE-EXISTING CONDITION WILL BE IMPACTED, BUT NO ANSWERS ARE AVAILABLE.
