More Clean Snacks
Has the dust settled yet? Have you had a moment to take a deep breath? School has been back on for nearly a month now and I’m wondering how you are doing with your new routine. Even if you aren’t parent to a child, teen or young adult who recently returned to school, you have no doubt been touched by the hustle and bustle of the new school year – whether it’s lending a hand, an ear, or some advice to the busy rockstar moms and dads out there. I’m looking at you, grandparents, friends, aunts, uncles, and babysitters!
I recall all too well one of the biggest back to school challenges I faced was preparing healthy and tasty lunches and snacks that don’t require a lot of fuss and that the kids actually enjoy. And you know what? Keeping Clean snacking interesting, quick and simple is something important to all Clean Eaters, not just parents or kids back in school. That is why I shared my 15+ Eat-Clean snack ideas here on my blog last week.
In true Eat-Clean Community fashion, people helped make the post even better, even more powerful, by offering up some of their favourite go-to snacks!
HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVOURITES:
Tara Reed Hovis: “…my 5 year old has been asking for frozen peas for her snack.”
Jennifer Borges: “Whole fruits and veggies. We mix it up – whole, sliced or cubed. I think they like the variety because it makes the snacks appear different.”
Deb Robertson: “Watermelon (cut in pizza shaped slices) topped with goat cheese. A hit every time!”
Kim Gordon: “Mix nut butter, honey, oats and coconut. Roll into balls. Store in fridge or freezer.”
Amy Loo: “Wheat tortilla, almond butter, slivered almonds and banana rolled up. Yum!”
Tiffany Curry: “…homemade energy bites, crackers with Laughing Cow cheese, fruit and cottage cheese.”
Roxanne Camden: “Honey Crisp apples with peanut butter, raw almonds, Greek yogurt drizzled with honey and a dash of cinnamon.”
Audrey Becerril: “…I bring nuts in little containers. I bring pre-chopped fruit salad. It keeps all day long."
Nina Radcliffe: “Carrot sticks with peanut butter.”
