NEW BEGINNINGS NEED INTENTION 😇😇
Here’s Why
Life is full of new beginnings.
Each new day is an opportunity to start again.
Every breath — the cycle of inhale and exhale — is a new, life-giving moment.
The sunrise. The sunset. Each signals the opening and closing of a day.
Seasons follow one another, offering the promise of spring, the winter sleep, and over again.
Life and death cycles repeat.
New beginnings are everywhere.
As I wrote in my previous blog, the New Year offers you a New Beginning. There is an energy of hope and anticipation about all that is forthcoming in this new chapter of your life
Using intentions to mindfully reorient ourselves with focused energy, especially when mixed with emotion, gives us the best chance to realize goals we wish to achieve.
Intention is the secret to success. An intention mixed with your emotional force, helps you:
1) Effectively commit to new lifestyle habits
2) Foster taking actions aligned with your values
3) Connects you with your Big Why
4) Clarifies your emotional commitment to yourself
How best to set intentions
Intention setting is a more successful approach than goal setting. Goals can often feel like a static and punishing list of Must Dos. Some of us get so focussed on checking off items on the list that it fully consumes us. The List controls us.
Intentions give us space to be sovereign over our decisions. The List has less power over us. Intentions are part of your mindset. How you feel. Intentions feel more like something you have control over, allowing for the process of life.
Are you ready to start making positive changes to your life? If that’s a loud Y E S S, let’s get going.
“An intention is to lifestyle as a goal is to life events.”

Two-Step Intention Setting Process
Intention setting requires 2 ingredients:
- Emotion
- Purpose
Let’s explore these elements more thoroughly.
Emotion
Compare these two statements:
I will get up every day at 5:00 am to work out.
Versus,
I intend to start my morning every day with a workout so that I can be at my physical best. In doing so I support my immune system, weight management and overall sense of well-being. When I feel better I have a greater desire to serve others and to help them feel better.
In the first statement, there is no feeling other than pressure to perform. This statement lacks emotion. Without involving positive, feel good emotions, you will only attract lower vibration outcomes.
The second statement embodies the emotional energy you’d like to cultivate in your life.
Ask yourself which statement feels more meaningful to you. Note the emphasis on the word “feels”. Remember that an intention that is emotionalized — mixed with emotion — is always going to be easier to achieve.
Statement 2 feels like a richer experience emotionally speaking. The more deeply you connect with your intention on a personal level the more likely you’ll ignite lasting lifestyle changes.

Purpose
Intention captures a personally relevant why. The reason you are doing something is as important as what you’re doing because it contains meaningful energy.
A solid why helps you clarify your purpose. With that knowledge of purpose your intention can more strongly serve you.
Ask yourself, as you set your intention, how will your intention serve you? How does your intention upgrade your life as a whole? Knowing your why changes what you do and how you do it.
Make sure your intention captures a greater purpose.
Compare these two sentences once more.
I will get up every day at 5:00 am to work out.
Versus,
I intend to start my morning every day with a workout so that I can be at my physical best. In doing so I support my immune system, weight management and overall sense of well-being. When I feel better I have a greater desire to serve others and to help them feel better.
Which of these sentences generates a greater emotional experience in you? Which one calls you forward to your higher purpose? Which sentence fires up images of a successful, happy, productive you?
This New Year, I invite you to set intentions instead of goals. As you do so, feel the hopeful energy of initiating a new beginning. See your outcomes as already accomplished. Visualize yourself as that powerful soul who already embodies the resources needed to make any intentions materialize.
I invite you to share your intentions with others in my Clean Living Facebook group.
Sending you my warmest intentions for a New Year filled with wellbeing.
